Ans- The Indus Valley Civilization is also known as the Harappan Civilization because out of many archaeological sites of the ancient civilization, the town of Harappa, was first excavated in 1920. The first remains of the civilization were also found in the ancient city of Harappa. The word 'Harappan' is originated from the ancient city or the archaeological site of Harappa. Thus, the Indus Valley Civilization is also known as the Harappan civilization.
